The Capacity-Building Training for National Data Centres (NDCs) of the Southeast Asia, Pacific and Far East (SEAPFE) Region is being held in Mongolia for the first time from 25 to 29 May 2026.
The training is jointly organized by the Government of Mongolia, the Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (IAG MAS), and the Training Section of the International Data Centre (IDC), Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO).
The training brings together 29 experts and researchers from 14 countries: China, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Russia, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
This training is of significant importance in strengthening the capacity of National Data Centres (NDCs) operating within the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization's (CTBTO) International Monitoring System (IMS). It aims to enhance participants' skills in using modern software, as well as in data processing and analysis methodologies.
The training also provides participants with advanced knowledge and practical experience in working with the International Data Centre (IDC) databases and products. It is expected to make a substantial contribution to developing participants' professional competencies in data processing and analysis in line with international standards.
